You will need a 29 or 30pitch Mazco RE-4,I've tried a bunch of different ones and the Mazco is the best handling,my Daytona didn't like cleavers much, runs best with the chopper

Teleflex SeaStar Pro with No. HC6345 high-performance cylinder assembly

I suspect any fast outboard is going to feel real lose compared to a jet. A jet needs to be attached to the water to feed the pump. Outboards like to fly. I've only been in one jet, and it was not as loose as my outboards.

    Takes some getting use to

Try a over the hub exhaust prop as mentioned above. The Bravo has lots of lift and maybe more stern lift than you need. When it's working right, at high speed the boat will be riding on a cushion of air. That's why you can go 100 with only 300hp. You might even need more than 30" of pitch with the 300XS. You might give Kevin a call at R&R Prop. but you can't go wrong with a RE-4.

300xs likes to run at 5800-5900 rpm. On that boat contact Randy Corson (wildman) for one of the Performance Propellers Drag 4 props in a 32 pitch. That prop should push your boat to 100 plus without all of the bow lift that the full chopper style props give. Other guys have run the Merc ET props on this type of hull successfully. Your current Bravo will be a good prop for heavy loads but again it has to much blade area and will really want to lift the nose.

That flighty feeling takes a bit to get used to. I went from a BBF Python Bubble Deck Jet that ran in the 80's to my 21' Cat with an outboard. The jet was always glued to the water because it had to be to get water for the pump. The outboard setup can allow more of the boat to lift.

Keep the trim angle flat near 0 degrees. Only slight changes to positive trim are needed. This hull aint like the jets and does not like or need a lot of trim.

Welcome to the magic carpet ride!

Here's what the boat looks like with positive trim and a full chopper prop at around 85.

Way to much bow lift. With that Bravo this may be why the boat feels loose.

Here's a couple of shots from Randys site.

He rigs all of his 21 cats with the Drag 4 and does not give a ton of positive trim. They all run 104-106 and feel stable.

Thanks For The Input And Will Try To Contact Randy. PS WITH THE BRAVO1 PROP AND THE TRIM DOWN AND NOSE CONE EVEN WITH CENTER OF THE HULL IT TRYS TO LIFT THE WHOLE BOAT OUT OF THE WATER AND CARRIES THE NOSE PRETTY HIGH. I CAN ONLY GET ABOUT 5000 RPM BEFORE THE BOAT STARTS TO BUCK , DIP AND FEELS LIKE THE SKAG IS BREAKING LOOSE IT DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT

    Rigging height

I have a 85' 19ft daytona with a 20' Shaft 2.5 merc race motor dyno at 285hp but the original outboard bracket was cut down when a 15" short shaft was put on im curious if anyone has the measurements of the factory bracket they come with. they all have four bolts but mine only has three now so im looking for the measurements of the plate the motor is mounted on
