Painting my Action
Hey guys just wondering, I was planning to go with white gel coat on the bottom and awlgrip on top. Is it worth adding that duratech with the gel coat? Just wondering and also what's a good primer to use. i was thinking the 545 primer from awlgrip would be best i guess.

1 pint of duratec to a gallon of clear, thin with a good medium paint reducer at 5 to 10%. makes it much easier to shoot, IMO.
if you are using awl-grip I would go with their epoxy primer too.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

so basically one pint for 1 gal of gel. You gotta see the pad now. Looks sweet. He did a really good job sanding the boat down and fixing the pad. Now you could tell its a concave pad.

Is this good info??
What sprayer/tip combinations, what pressure is required?
You can use a Gravity Feed, Siphon, Pressure Pot or Plural Component type equipment. The tip sizes vary depending on application. For Primers, use a .015-.021 with plural component equipment and for Gravity or Siphon use .070-.110 (1.8mm - 2.7mm). For Hi-Gloss, use .015-.018 with plural component equipment and for Gravity or Siphon use .060-.080 (1.5mm - 2.0 mm). Air pressure should be between 38 - 42 PSI but can be 35 - 50 PSIReaction 19ft

I thought you were going to go with a Mexican flag themed paint job, or was it a rainbow flag paint job?

OK i have someone to paint my boat with awlgrip. He said that he is also painting the bottom with awlgrip . Is this a good or bad idea to do. He said gelcoat is not that hard to do is the sanding and buffing is the pain. ??????
