    hawaiian powerboats

I have searching for info on a 22' Hawaiian I know it was made in Cali but, that's about it I'd like to know about how they handle, do they provide a dry ride, how much HP they handle...just general stuff. If anybody knows I'd really appreciate the info.

I have been to the Hawaiian shop in Norco, Ca. and my brother-in-law owned (and I worked on) a 28' I/O for 5 years. From what I have seen, if it were not for Home Depot these boats would have never been built (drywall screws, non-marine plywood, etc.)I have never seen a 22' in person but I am sure they follow the same build schedule as the larger ones I have experience with. If your looking to purchase one I would suggest that you bid low. If you have already purchased, I apologize.

    I had a feeling

Thanks Mo.....The boat's for sale on E-bay and it looks great. I checked the blue book and the value is < 10K. The builder doesn't have a website and there's not much info from the seller....it adds up with your story.

I have a 24 Hawaiian daycruiser hull. It originally a jet that was converted to a twin outboard. It had brackets with twin 3.4 liter 275 Mercs called "Double Trouble". The name fitted it well. The owner or somebody put a plate over the Transom and just puttied the holes on the inside. I obtained it and put a heavy duty transom in it with super duty knees inside. The exterior of the transom needs to be handled but it can take whatever you want to hang on it or put in it if you are interested.

    Lord help us.

    Hey Guys,
Just recently bought a 1979 Hawaiian 21 outboard boat. Through some research it looks like the actually model is a 6.2 meter Flasher. My plan is to redo the transom, floor and stringers with coosa and throw a new four stroke motor on it. Title shows the Max HP is 235hp, these new four strokes are much heavier, can anyone express some thoughts or advise on HP ratings on boats older that '85? I know they used to rate the power off the powerhead not at the prop like they do now. I have a 150 I can hang on it now, but I'm tempted to go bigger but thinking it will be too heavy for the boat. Will attach pictures soon

any boat made in the states over 20 feet in length is not horsepower rated by the coast guard. legally you can put as large an outboard or outboards as you would like. over 20 feet in length, the manufacturer can only 'recommend' a particular horsepower maximum and because of this, manufacturers rarely even afix a sticker or plate on their boats to recommend a h.p. all boats built under 20 feet are coast guard and boating industry association(BIA) horsepower rated with a given payload, number of persons, level flotation, etc.,etc.,etc. this is why you see so many boat manufacturers line of boats start at 20 feet. less headaches in building...

Sweet boat, the day cruiser style is a good look. Are you going to do a build thread?
