duckbill drain plug
Does anyone use these style drain plugs, are they worth it or do they break, leak, etc..

I would say that if you aren't getting any water in, don't use them.
I ran one for years, and think that is part of the reason for my core rot on the 'Stream.
A piece of anything can get in the flat part, and cause it to leak water INTO the boat.
A buddy of mine finally made me realize that if no water was getting into the boat, (rain, splash, swimming, etc) then there was no reason for the drain, and I think he was right.JOHN MASON

Good idea for raceboats that are subject to splash, and taken out of water after heatrace. Bad idea for lake toys. 1 pinestraw needle can put the boat on the bottom of the lake overnight.

I second Raceman's thoughts ! You wouldn't believe how quick water will come in through that drink straw you didn't see get into the bildge...... Mike

Bent beercaps fit in perfect and make a big leak. Almost sank my old jetboat a couple of times before I put the regular plug back in.

I had them on my last boat and really liked them. Never had any trouble with them.

love them
Tempo no longer produces them I would like to find 3. Leave my boats in a weekend long and haven't had a problem in 20 years. Keep in mind though you won't find a pine needle, drink staw, or any other garbage in th bilge of my ride. I will buy all can find if you know of any. It about killed me to install bilge pumps in my boat. I am all about plain and simple.
