    Fuel Filter

To add a filter in optimax's fuel line is ok or will have fuel restrictions?
    Is the engine's filter enough?
What about the lenght and diameter of the fuel hose?

Mercury recommends that you not add an extra fuel filter. I have not had a problem with mine. I had an episode with my gas tank. It had a leaking gasket that allowed water inside. The filter would get almost full of water before the alarms told me what was happening.

merc has no problem with you mounting another filter - as long as it is done right and creates no add'l drag on the fuel system...follow the specs for vacumn draw in the shop manual and you'll be fine..this comes straght from engineers in fondulac....
