mercury race outboard
Hello,
I have some questions about the engine in the picture.
It is for sale in europe and i have never seen it before.
I am not interested in buying it, i just want some info.
how old is it?
How many hp, the ad says 200hp?
Is it rare or collectable?
In what kind of racing class was it used in europe?
Thanks for your help

well ill try some here but i am no expert
looks like open exhaust
i see a distributor
i see 6 carbs
and its a in line 6 motor
cut down midsection
and a race foot
i would say all of it is hand made
200 hp sure easy i would think
mark 75 would be the expert here
looks like a lot of goodies on there for sure i must say
but really i dont know nothing about it
i could be wrong on all accounts

Inline Six is correct, this is a pile of unrelated and little related parts that have more value separated than together like this. Too bad the current owner thinks otherwise.
In general one could say it is more than 30 years old and never raced in a sanctioned race in its current condition, but that it is made from "racing parts"

Not so fast
You guys miss the point of this great combo of parts.........A V4 rude case to take all that HP.... Pipes that may have had chambers..... and spark plug wires that look coool. Worth lots of speed on the rite boat. Don't be such Bickes Dave is back.
