scott- based on what you've done in building the hydro you should be more than capable of building the 200 yourself. Propelled Marine will have most of the parts you need. for any parts that must be mercury, I'm sure there are numerous board members that work for mercury dealers and can help you out with pricing since you are a business. just get a shop manual. take lots of digital pics prior to taking it apart, the pics and the shop manual will make reassembly much easier. assuming you don't have a lot of stuck/corroded fasteners it shouldn't be too much trouble. unless you are good at removing broken fasteners an old saltwater motor may end up just being a parts donor. basic hand tools (sockets, torque wrench, etc) and a few specialty item such as a merc flywheel puller, ring compressor, etc will make it go easier. I wouldn't go crazy trying to mod the motor, the 200 will be a great step up from the 4 cyl. bone stock rebuild with quality parts. 87 octane gas, easy on the wallet. resealing the lower isn't that difficult either.
one step at a time and you'll have it done and over with.
then you'll have one badass home grown hydro.Mike Dowling

I dont think you can hone a chrome bore does it need it? I thought you have to resleve them. Usually they can be cleaned if not gouged. Rick

yes if it's chrome you need to clean it with a scotch bite pad to give it a texure so the new rings will break into there new home
finding a tilt tube should be easy to find, I would put something thru it and get started with the tear down... drop the lower off it, then once you have the power head off you can handle the pieces....clean and paint then put it all together nice clean new and ready to hang on your boat

looks like the cover on mine and says for V -200 just make sure that its for a 2.4..I think all the torque specs are the same and only way to put pistons in is with the Up stamped on the face of the piston at the top???
just be sure to look over the balance hose routing it looks a little scary at first but just label everything from / to Keep in mind the only person that needs to remember where stuff goes is you pic work great too..
When you take it apart a 2 liter Pepsi bottle rack ( the plastic one they use to stack them in the stores with) will be of great assistance they have 6 holes where the bottles drop into...one for each cylinder kinda works good just cover each one with a clean rag and put zip lock bags in each to hold loose bearings

oh shoot i forgot about all the little vacuum lines and stuff
it looks like it is a horizontal reed motor to best i could tell
i should be right
i got to go by the weld shop and pick up a bar
to put in the tilt tube for now so i can get it up on my stand
first i got to put this 60 motor on there from a customers boat
then after that goes back on the boat im good
the weld shop might have time to pop me together a metal stand right quick
my shop stand is aluminum
it dont look to bad on the outside as far as corrosion goes
