Spark Plugs
I Have A 88 2.4 200 Black Max That Has Alot Of Black Carbon Around Were The Plug Wire Goes Onto The Plug.you Know When The Wire Is All The Way Down On The Plug There Is Alot Of Black Around It When It Is Seated All The Way Dowm On The Plug.is This Normal?thanks

seen a bit of this on mine aswell. pretty normal tho to a certain extent.
check to see if the female terminal inside the boot is not too corroded and fits onto the plug real nice an tight.
could also be a lil bit of exhaust gases coming in the back of the cowling.

black on plug ceramic
the discoloration you see could be coming from inside the cylinder. the seal between the ceramic plug body and the steel hex/threaded section WILL leak over time. look closely and see if it doesn't look like it's coming from that area. perfectly normal, just a sign of the plug needing changed. with the 100,000 mile plug changes on autos, i see it all the time. can happen to any plug marine or land, 2 or 4 stroke.
