    7.3 ford diesel chip and exhaust

    i am considering a chip and exhaust to increase fuel economy and a performance upgrade truck is a 97 stick with 163,000 miles any recomendation or expierence would be appriciated

    Chip or micro-processer is a good move. The exhaust is a waste unless you are going with a different turbo. The waste gate is only 3 1/2, any exhaust bigger then that is worthless. Chuck

    I have a K&N filter and chipped and I get 21 mpg out of a Dually. If your exhaust is small like my truck I think a small gain my be had there.

    I run a edge evolution programer that has 60,80,100Hp,K&N and a straight thru walker big truck muffler on a 01 supercab. Run it on 80HP most of the time. 3.73 auto,gets 18 to 20 on highway.

    thanks for the info, i will try a chip & filter i already took the cat out of the exhaust. i am getting 15-16 around town 20 would be nice

    The edge evulation programer is money will spent. I around 20mpg out of 2000 f250 Super Duty pulling a load. I also have the air-raid filter box on it.

    We get about 22 mpg around here with our Diesel. Mid 20's on highway, lose about 1 mpg pulling the boat. Chuck
