I'm all for an electric car, as soon as they take their skirts off and make one that can fully charge in 10 minutes. as of right now there isn't any real technology that will let that happen. fuel cells look promising, but they are a long way from being practical...
PS- I dont know why we are even talking about this, Rednecks Cummins diesel dodge can already get 135mpg and do 0-60 in 3 seconds!Last edited by 1BadAction; 12-27-2007 at 08:40 AM.

Nothing beats the efficiency of an electric car. Instead of a stupid idling gas or diesel engine that turns most of the power into heat with exhaust and cooling, this is up to 95% efficient. The US auto and oil lobby makes sure this technology never becomes a reality for consumers like ourselves.

After all the predictions I have read about over the years since I was in high school I thought we would be in our own personal flying cars by now.
Battery, fuel cell, hybrid. They're coming. I will only trade my 50 mpg Jetta for something more efficient.
I'm still waiting on the 1/2 ton diesels.1999 Allison xb2003 2001 200XS
