The 5.3 is a bulletproof engine, hopefully thats what you have, unless you bought an HD 2500.

My '95 Suburban has 178,000 miles on it, still runs strong. It's fully loaded and paid in full. Just replaced the ORIGINAL transmission last week. These are indeed great trucks.

I have a 1995 suburban and it has 276,000 miles and runs great other than letting it idle(smokes like a train)Driving down the road rides smooth and no smoke.Needs valvestem seals.Other than the stem seals she runs great.
I retired this truck last year becouse I bought an Excursion, but do to a DRUNK driver driving down the highway at 80 mph the wrong way hit my excursion and totaled it!! Luckly my family had no long term issues.Im back driving the suburban and she runs great.all about the go fast with no tickets
