That accident was on my local Lake Hartwell a few years ago. Made front page in the paper. Story was, guy just got the boat, brand new, if I remember correctly, and it got away from him and took a hard turn and impacted the shore. No one was seriously injured. I took my boat to see the site a few days afterward and it is a mighty steep bank and BIG tree. Notice the tree split the boat almost back to the cockpit. I don't think he had insurance
