Say it's not so!!!! NOT THE GREAT TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toyota's quality slips, again
<!-- Head -->Posted by: David Welch on October 17
<!-- Date -->It’s been a rough week for Toyota. First, the company gets slapped by Consumer Reports, which said that Toyota’s quality slipped so much that it will no longer recommend every car just because it has a loopy “T” on the hood. CR won’t recommend the V-6 powered Toyota Camry sedan nor the Tundra pickup because their quality results were below average. Overall, Toyota slipped in CR’s latest survey. Its namesake brand now ranks fifth, behind Honda, Acura, Scion and Subaru. The next day, Toyota said it would recall 470,000 cars in Japan.
What’s more is that U.S. carmakers Ford and General Motors fared pretty well. Ford made big gains with its Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brands all ranking between 11 and 15. GM did pretty well, too. Buick cracked the top 10. Chrylser, however, had just a few models on CR’s ‘recommended’ list. To keep things in perspective. Toyota’s three brands all are among the top 10 for reliability. The wheels aren’t coming off the Camry.
But these are still really bad signs. Toyota has had some high-profile recalls in the past couple of years. Last year, company President Katsuaki Watanabe bowed in apology and said Toyota would fix the problems. A year later, we’re still seeing big recalls and slipping results in quality surveys. CR is a bible for many consumers. Here’s the rub: Detroit’s Big Three can’t cut costs fast enough or rebuild their brands quickly enough to knock Toyota down a few pegs. But if the Japanese juggernaut keeps moving in reverse on quality, Detroit might be able to find a way back into the hearts of some buyers who were lost so long ago.
Source of just one!
I told yall a year ago, just wait!
But no!!! Big Al was a ass!
I knew what the repair and warranty numbers were at the dealers and knew what was coming!
Toyogamma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what dam excuse you got now!
And don't come with that they sell more they got more problems!
This is based on percentage of sales!
Not on unit sales.
In this case they loose both ways!“The bitterness of poor quality & service remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten”

Great post. What do you know about the 1/2 ton trucks comming out with diesels ? I hear Ford has one for next year and a rumor that GM has one too ? I have been saying for years that we need a 1/2 ton diesel truck that gets great mpg.

I'm still not seeing any rollover accidents killing people or trucks starting on fire in people's garages. I guess it is easy to take pot shots at Toyota when Ford and GM have been below average their whole lives.

That is so tight lipped it's unreal!
Scared Ford or Chevy will find out what each other is doing and one up each other.
But yes, it's coming and the new diesel fuel is the major part of that.
Don't look for a big power like the 1 ton's.
It's gonna be a low HP very high torque small diesel!
Could be 25-30 mpg
Will see!“The bitterness of poor quality & service remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten”

I couldn't be happier with my Honda and Toyota. My last Pontiac was the biggest POS I have ever owned and my Ford F-150 King Ranch wasn't much better. Oh, BTW, can you say $90 a barrel? I hope you are happy with your gas guzzlers.

Ford will have the diesel in the half ton trucks for MY 2010. (Their own design, not a Powerstroke International Motor)
GM will have it's 4.0'ish liter Duramax available in the H2 first for MY 2009.
Looks like both will require the Urea system to clean up emissions. Expect to fill the tank at every oil change.

diesel
I want to hear more about the new diesels ? any more info ?? Al can ya give us anything else ? I dont mind lower HP than the 1 tons. My 2000 F350 has plenty, and newer ones have way more than anyone needs. The new trucks have sooo much power thay are only good for being rough on your equipment. Or maybe drag racing with a load.
I heard that the new ford will get 34 mpg freeway !!!2005 TRIAD STV EURO
