Not to Hyjack your thread but Isn't the Venom made by HYDRO STREAM (Two words) and Spaethe in Canada has the rights to the old "Hydrostream". There is alot of crap on here about the guy Jim who makes the new Hydro Streams and a lot of fantastic things about Spaethes boats.
Its like someone redesigning the Allison and calling it the new and improved Alison (with one 'l').
Either way, The Venom is a stylish design. Definately a bad azz looking boat!!!Hydrostream VKING

Rob What's wrong? You don't appreciate TD's countless contributions to lowering S&F's IQ numbers

There is only one name, it is the same in both Canada and the US. Different owners. John Spaeth in Canada, and Jim in the US. The first US boats were from Canada, all this animosity is because he never paid for them.......
Jim owes a lot of others too.
That aside the Venom is a very nice boat, I just have trouble supporting a company that doesn't pay its bills.

my colors
All this comparision about different boats. It is great conversation but you will be happy with any decision you make. Do your homework and go for it. All these boats under the right condititions provide the ultimate rush!!

Venom vs Hyrdostream drama.
The boat is a great design and the cockpit is bigger then an stv big hair. The boat plains flat runs flat and is an eye popper. Ran Brad Collins's boat at the Michigan Hot Boat meet a few years ago.The drama that came along with being a dealer was stressful. I do not need to get into this again. But I will comment that it is a great looking boat and some people have had success racing it but no where near the success of a Mirage or an STV.
Find the time to research it and go see where they are made. I do not know where that is but I am sure it is somewhere.
my two cents?

What RBT says about the first boats built for Jim C. that was back in tracy california. NO venoms were ever built in Canada.
I really liked my venom BTW.
