I know this an old thread but will 4inch setback Bobs plates that raise 1-1/2 in to start, be too much for cooling? I have set screws to fill the top 2 hole if need be.

Only one way to find out. The difference is minuscule due to the fact that the motors will be another 4” back.

Are the motors on the transom now or already on a bracket? 4" back equates to moving the gearcase down 1/2", so going up 1-1/2" is like going up 1" from where you are now.
