What year did merc change from a 2 piece head to a one piece head on the 2.0L
Please help.

must be 87, i have an 86 2.0 liter with 2 piece heads.
85 vector wood conversion. RIP

Must be later than that mine is an 87 with 2 piece heads. Midnight you stated you have an 86 with 2 piece heads. What temp does your motor run? Mine has always run hot.

Thanks for the info scream and fly. Also can you tell me what year they stoped making the 2.0L and if 2.4L heads fit an 2.0L. I heard they will but i would have to mill them to get the disired compression. Any help would be appreciated.
