UK Readers Rides!!
Thought it would be nice for us UK boaters to share some pics of our UK offshore boats with our friends from over the pond
Here a pic of my Ring 21 with XR2 200hp race motor

Just bring the point up that pretty much all the UK boats will be a offshore hull type, most of the inland areas have been regulated to death and if they allow power it's normally shut down to 10 knots. There are a few places left but I cant actually think of one right now maybe coniston. you could count them on one maybe 2 hands...... Ah ha but being such a small island the worse case is you never live more than 56 miles from the sea. Hence the trend for this type.
Hopefully the other guys will post some more pics, Burty, Bazza, Bad boy, CB1 ect ect.

Dokta and Burty..
Great looking boats, kind of reminds me of the SOB's a lot of guys run over here in the US, especially up in the North East.
Docta, any more info on your hull (weight, lenght..etc), and who makes it?

It's a ring 20' maybe a C (versions goes up as with a revamp) made by mike ring, though the rights now reside with xxxxxx marine in poole dorset. production about to start sometime soon good offshore boat about the only vice is they can get a little hooky above 65-70 depending how its rigged. made in various sizes 16' through to a 26'.

Close - its actually a 21 - The 21 is slightly different to the 20c as it has no splash well. Instead the motor hangs on a "gill" type bracket and it has a small sun deck/hatch. As BluFin says, they are good for 65-70. Not sure about them being "hooky". This is my second Ring and both have been ok. I had an 18ft previously with a 200 2.4l and that was a good ride.
The 21 did have a merc cossy 3.4l when I bought her but the shaft was XL and the chine walk was awful -. Also sat very deep in the water aand drunk soooo much fuel. Runs a lot better with the XR2 as its so much lighter. Spinning a 23 worked chopper she handles the rough very well.
I think the hull + motor weighs about 750kg.
SFRacing - whats an SOB??
Thanks for the interestLast edited by The Docta; 08-06-2007 at 02:36 AM.
