okay, if i have an extra 6"s, how much more should i be able to pick up?
i went from a 24 cupped pretty good so it may be like a 25, turnin 6900 maby 7000 at moments to a 30 and raised the motor 3/4 in and am now turnin 6100 w/2-3 people in boat. my math worked out as to be able to turn it my 6100 min rpm as i was told 1" is good for 200 rpm??? i'm told i gotta be able to do 6100 or it'll burn up w/ fuel compression set up i got, so, how many mph should 6" of pitch be good for if you can get the rpm's to be "on the pipe" as they say in motorcross? fun out.

6"
A 24 at 6900 with a .9 slip is 79.04
A 30 at 6900 with a .9 slip is 98
A 30 at 6100 with a .9 slip is 86.6
Thats what the prop workshop
says anyway

Setback
Keith, i'm no guru but, until you are running with aslittle as possible positive trim you are as they say "pissin in the wind" If the motor is working to lift your nose you aren't getting forward push.
Correct me if i'm wrong, setback will help decrease the need to trim up allowing more top end.
I'lll be out until monday see you then.

Hey Funwood
If you would put this 10" to it you won't have any problems getting it up.That 1 to 2"s ya got aint enough for the Action your looking for. That way you can set her on the pad and grind dude.

I'm with Lonnie & TunnelMike
With enough setback, you might just be able to turn that 30 6900~7000.

Hey Funagain
I'm not one to argue a manufactures recomendations but when my buddy bought his STV both Rorak Summerford and Rusty Campbell told him do not put any setback plate on it at all. They said the boat had all it needed built in.That is the way he ran it but there are a lot of guys that have found they are faster with more than none.Again I don't want to bust anybodys balls but you don't know untill ya try for yourself.
PS I'm not sure your 175 will turn a 30 7000 though,not in the water anyway.hehehe

i was talkin pitch,
but setback is in the cards i'm afraid, Lonnie that 10" may be too much according the Action folks, Action 17 Bobby and his dad Bob. mine has some weak points i'm concerned about, may not be worth trying to correct. JONES RACING, that is at 1:87 to 1 right? i'm running a 2:1, thoughts? thanks everybody.
