I don't understand the animosity between the fans, it did not exist between the two men.

Yea 24 is the MAN now BIG time and the Fans can not stand seeing the 24 kill JR in every thing and breaking all the #3 Records in half the time LOVE IT!! HA HA

I think the real cause of the hatred is because #24 team pretty much ended Dale Earnhardt's reign as the dominate driver. How many races and championships did #3 win after the #24 got up to speed. And how many might #3 have won if the #24 hadn't been the fastest Chevy. He clearly would have got his eighth in 1995 and was the first Chevy in 1997. So he could easily have been 9 times Champ.

Tying and then passing the total win record is just a painful reminder of how the #24 had put the #3 in the shade a dozen years ago.

I don't like him because after all the time and money Ford put behind him he didn't even have the gratitude to run a Ford in Cup for even one year. To me that is a person that is lacking in character. That and he is over rated as a pure race driver, IMO.

I wish I'd had recorded Jeff's comment when he was on Speed TV's Tunnel Vision.

I quote, when Jeff was asked why Ray left. Jeff replied, Because I wasn't willing anymore to do what Ray does to win Championships. HUMMM, I wonder what Jeff was trying to say????

Also Mark Martin has FIVE IROC Championships, Dale Sr. has FOUR and Jeff has ZERO. All cars are the same, the driver makes the difference. Nuff said. Also in Dales last two IROC Championships he beat Mark by only 1 point in the 3rd Championship and only 3 points in his 4th Championship.

Say what ya want but Mark moves from a Championship team to a midpack team and takes the Points lead before taking his vacation.

Not only does that show what caliber of a driver Mark is but how much of an advantage Nascar is letting Chevy have over the rest of the field.
