    Hydromotive Quad IV-X O/B or O/T

    Hi!

I am searching for a prop that combines good cruise and great top speed (for my Phantom 25 (w/twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS's), and read favourable words about Hydromotive Quad IV-X O/B or O/T? Do you have any experiences?

    Hydromotive Props

I've never run one but I know several people running 21 ft+ rigs who say that the large diameters of these props work very well on bigger rigs.

    Hydromotive

I run one on my Daytona, has unbelievable holeshot, most bowlift of any prop I ever ran and good top end also. Also the smoothest running prop ever.No vibration like 3-blade props. When you pick your pitch remember these props have incredible bite and you will need less pitch than with a 3-blade chopper style.

    Hydromotive ...

    Hi!

How will you compare this to Merc Chopper II or Tempest?

    Thansk!

There is no comparison, much better prop than the chopper on a heavier rig. Also your prop choice will have many variables depending on what it is you want for your particular set-up. I have three different ones that I use depending on how I plan on using the boat that day.

I run IV's on my 24' cat with twin PM300's. I have 2 sets - 25 & 29". I had to drill ventilation holes to get the props to spin up to a decent RPM for the hole shot. I am happy with these props.
