Well, many years have passed and who would of guessed the 2020 season would be such a mess and horrible loss to so many. The Apache is still looking good but not so good, interior took a big hit over the years, looking to do a redo soon. I ended the season doing a solo run from the Rocky River to Avon Point just to burn up some fuel. With the wind in my face and noise the air makes at 60mph, thought i heard a winning noise, well, the T4 powerhead gave up. Its been on the boat for years without me doing anything yet. I had to close the Marina the year after Storm Sandy visited Cleveland, did a redo and some Longshoremen I hired didn't anchor the new docks correctly, so just couldn't afford two disasters in a row, total raw deal. Anyway, going to pull the motors and see what happened to the T4, hopefully the crank is good and only needs a sleeve. I have bought more EFI's over the years and still have a large collection on the 3.4 liter engines, even have a test motor from Mercury with a 30 inch mid section, was tempted to see how the Apache Warrior would perform with one central 3.4. About 550 pounds less weight! How about doing a triple set-up? Cool boat, hope to get it screaming and flying again this summer! Dd24skater, tell me more about the cool black boat in its day and thanks for all the info from Raceman! Stay safe and healthy!

Its just the T4 powerhead. I will take some pics but its not pretty after so many years of sitting. Interesting about tapered pins? Not sure what that means but it does have the small flywheel and if the flywheel is the same as the 2.0 I'd like to find some used ones. There is an extra hole drilled in the piston, know that because the guy I bought it off of had me drill the hole in a standard TRW forged piston to replicate the one that detonated on him, he had to send it out for a new sleeve. I helped him with the piston and then I went in there with my porting tools to match the new liner with the old casting. Sorry about the no photo, will get some motor pics up in the next couple days, here's my new wobbly stand made from an old table! Had to get some motors off the floor. Now I'm trying to find the paperclip to load an image! Help! My new number is 440-356-1202, thats the only number I have, earlier it showed a number I gave up. I am always interested in parts and motors, etc.

The small flywheel only fits the T4..... with the starter mounts moved closer to the crank. The T4 had holes in the pistons....for the finger ports..... If you used a stock piston from a fishing motor......it would have rings for a chrome bore not a steel bore....Might be why the scoring.

That is most likely not true that only 5 were made, if so I have all 6! Here's a pic of the T4 block showing the added finger port

Here's a pic of small flywheel on T4, needs a lot of elbow grease to get things new and shinny looking again some day!
