Tahiti Boats made a whole line of SK/SJ boats back in the late 60 throughout the 70s that would make a Schuster Boat look like a bath tub toy as far as performance.

As I understand Schuster bought a bunch of Over Stock Tahiti Emblems with the Tiki Head trademark Logo and used them on his boats.

The deck on a Lo Pro or Ski Boat was slightly different with the ridge running down the center of the bow.

Unless a lot of work and Stringers were added to a 16" Schuster one would have a heck of a time dropping that beast of a motor in one.

Sidewider did make an 18' Jet with a V8 but as I recall the 16 jets were a in line 4.

This is my 1971 Schuster Tahiti Torino when I bought it.

    Now with new interior.

probably asked this before...did you ad the nav lights? or were they like that when p'kd her up?
    I ain't here for a long time, I'm here for a good time !....................

Karsten I had an identical boat to the one in the picture and it was a 73 rallysport. That hull design was popped over and over again and again. I think renken bought the design. Rick

Wow, it looks better now with the customer motor paint and white seats! Awesome to see such an old boat in amazing shape.

Thanks, I had hoped to keep the motor looking original but couldn't find the plastic emblems so I figured what the heck.....Just update it with decals.

    Couple more pic's

Did away with the 2 6 gallon metal gas tanks and opted for a 13 gallon.

Jack Davidson started Sanger Boats in 1954. Dick Shuster started Tahiti in 1963. I built the plug deck for the 16' Tahiti in 1963 and the plug for the 19' Toad in 1965. I built the plug and the molds for the Sanger Super Jet in 1974.

Can anyone identify this Tahiti jet??

I'm inheriting this boat and not sure what year it is, or anything else except that it runs. Clues guys?

Ya'll are the masters...I'm more of a Glastron guy but I love the lines.

    Thanks!!Click image for larger version.

What you have is most likely a Tahiti Jet Boat and has not connection to Schuster.......Schuster bought a lot of Tahiti Emblems from Tahiti way back when.

Schuster, Sidewider and a few other all have a 45 degree Transom bevel at the Stearn.

ID:	277218here are more of the Intimidator series: 72mph by Glastron Engineers, slowed down (added hook) to 65mph by Glastron corporate when it debuted in '80-86. Not many made...the standard cVX-20 hull was modified for a 260hp 350cu Mercruiser setup: vastly changed the rear for the above-water exhausts.

The year model is right below the right rear swim step embossed into the Hull with the boat identification number. I attached a photo of my 1979 glastron Carlson CVX 20. The boat year of manufacture is in that number.Click image for larger version.

ID:	297236By the way, I wish I had bought one of those before I started on my CVX 20. I spent about $18,000 and could about one like yours and put an alpha drive with a big block Chevy crate motor and probably blown 90 mph all to pieces if I didn't lose control of it.I can't put over the transom headers on this boat which is limiting performance, greatly.Click image for larger version.

    Red face

    Porschesolutions,

Other than the color, that looks exactly like one of my co-workers back in the Forestry (now Cal-Fire) at Alma Station (next to Lexington Reservoir) in about 1972. His was new with Hardin motor and metal-flake green hull and top-sides, tan upholstery. Went real well

Certainly not a Big Block monster, but a fine runner all day at the lake. Seems to me it was pretty fuel efficient for a jet. Lot of years ago, but that was a fun boat

Was not a Tahiti splash as it did not have the 'sawed off corners' common to the standard Deep Vee. And most of these Sanger jets had a shallower Vee than the Tahiti, Kona, Hawaiian crowd ...
