    bar hoping with a wing

Its seems that what my old man did with it. Still looking for time to make bigger pic's As if Boots raced this hull or not I could not tell you hell I was only 9years old at the time. But I do know this at some race some where boots had a law suit put against him from Mercury. Boots tried to get a Mercury dealership for his marinea in Oshkosh WI. For some resand Mercury said no. So Boots went to OMC and got a Johnson dealership, and to show his remorce to Mercury he painted the engines white and put Johnson stickers on them, I guess Mercury was really pissed, claimed he was faulse addvertising for OMC. When my dad got the boat he got the white shroulds with it that said Johnson on them.
I also know that the Miss Deoblow wing was once owned by Boots for a very short time in 1972, He bought it from Kenny right after he sold the T-111 to my dad. Me and my father watched him run it on the channel in Oshkosh from Boots dock right after he got it. I see Boots ever once in a while at Spellmens marine, but he is retired now

I believe this is when Ted May raced the wing with OMC power....Mercury wasn't too happy. Can't read the list, but does it list the driver/owner of the wing ??

Odell Lewis & Roy Ridgell pilot Switzer Wing boats to 4th & 5th in Gold Coast Race.

Boat# 802 was driven by Roy Ridgell in the Miami Marine Staduim to West Palm Beach taking 10th place, and the return trip back to Miami, Roy in Boat# 802 was 2nd Overall.
This gave Roy a 5th place overall in that year's Florida Gold Coast power boat race.

I agree but years ago when these and many other hulls were retired from racing and not competitive any longer they were put out to pasture and most of them became just memories.

Apparently, there were 40 Switzer Wings produced in the '60's, 20 - 18 footers & 20 - 20 footers! By my latest count, there are 14 confirmed, still in existence!

Whoa!! There were over 40 18 footers made and about 20 twenty footers...so it's more like 14 out of 60+ still in existence

After this 1965 race, both boats were used as endurance/tes boats at Lake X. #804 was called 'Odell's boat', was later rigged with the BP's and taken to the 1968 Parker 9 Hour--Rick and I are still trying to figure out who was driving---and where the boat went (Bob Massey told me that Mercury gave it to him)

I was under the impression that no wing ever blew over. What happened to that one?

Easier to change props loaded that way tho.
