Jet boats and fish finders
Guys give me your ideas or setup for my 16' Weldbilt/60hp Merc Jet with a fish finder.
I'll only occasionally use it on small lakes or deep holes on the river so I want a low price model but what about the transducer? Do you have yours rigged so it can be removed easily while running the shallow riffles?
Or should I opt for a clamp on battery operated unit? I've never had one before but wanna try one this year as we have a nice little conservation lake close by now that I'll be fishing too.
THANKS!

I epoxy mine to the inside of the hull near the rear, (and yes, even the ones that are supposed to go on the outside rear of the hull will "shine" thru the hull.
Can't use silicone or anything that will be full of bubbles, it must be a solid, (no gaps, voids) installation.
Test it before glueing in, by putting some water in the bottom of the hull,( on the very outer hull, not the inside floor), and move it around till it reads......mount it as rearward as possible.JOHN MASON

you can mount it on the rear transom of the boat as long as it is flush with the bottom or a little bit raised off the bottom. im not saying that it wont, but i havent heard of them reading through the boat.

through hull
I use a through hull transducer. I just dont know if they work on aluminum boats. I have one on My STV Euro, but I looses signal at about 50 mph depending on how deep the water is. It looks like a small hockey puck glued to the bildge.
