This poster is a press release from OMC about that race.
I believe these "heavily prototyped" X115 and GT115 engines were internally referred to as OSS motors. The had crudely fabbed external exhaust tuners, flex flywheels, 1968 "under the flywheel" battery CD ignition, but still had the old 4 Bbl inline carb.

These are just thumb nail pics.......Can you upload these so that they open when you click on them?
Looks like Jeff might be correct but it's kind of hard to see with the tiny images.
Another question, does anyone have a picture of the rear of the Johnson Stinger (KC13R) Cover???
The sundry Johnson 1970 115 cover doesn't fit over the exhaust bubble because it comes to a 'V' in the back.
I can't remember how they did that.Last edited by vintage v4; 03-08-2018 at 05:03 PM.

I've got a nice G3 going together if anyone would like to try their 115 "rude motors" & props.

The one year that I ran in Hey super strangler on my old Al Martin pickle fork. We had him home doubt the entire two center ports into one large port and use special Wiseco pistons and rings in the V4 seems like we picked up 10 to 12 hp been about an hour top end it was around 100 maybe one oh one with a one to one gear case Still was not enough power for the boat so when The T3 Mercury‘s came out I made the switch back to mercury. Top and was about the same maybe 101102 but the acceleration with the extra cubic inch was massive that’s 99.6 versus the 122 point some thing for the T3
