My father (Oley Berkis - Toronto Canada) owned and raced a Switzer Shooting Star - and yes those are photos of one. I was only a child in the mid 60's - but he loved that boat and raced many a marathon in Lake Ontario, etc. and did very well. There was a photo of him sitting on the bow paddling it across the finish line on the front of the Toronto Telepgrah newspaper back then. It was also used as a family boat for us at our cottage. Glad to see your rolling on it again. Are you doing anything special to the bottom ??

Gave a quick impression of the one I got recently - http://www.retroboats.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=204 A blast to drive, but a smooth water only boat.

No nothing special to the bottom just a good clean up. This boat belongs to Harold Simburger & I thing he plans to show it more than run it. Just a few runs with his son Lynn. The s/n tag say's 2-6617 does this tell anybody anything about this boat? I have never seen a star like this one

It started out life as a 15 ft 7 in boat. The bow was reworked to make it a 16 ft boat. I guess thats where the extra holes in the transom came from. dual engine had to be 16 ft. as the pic shows it had several motors on it. short shafts & long shafts and also duals. Swiss cheese. But it will live again. the deck is so lumpy that I can't use a in-line sander on the bow from dash to nose it would take Way to much fill to flatten it so we are going to leave it the way it was thin & wavy.
