is the 60 mercury 4 stoke worth buying?

i have a 15 foot light weight tri hull looks simmilar too a 15 sport waler that i am going to put new motor on very soon. my too options are a 50 merc. 2 stroke carb motor or a 60 merc 4 stroke efi motor. im thinking the 4 stroke will be a better more reliable motor. what do you guys think? and is the 4 stroke worth the extra 1500 dollars? need some advise dont really know wich way to go. thanks

them are heavy motors, far to Heavy for the power thay make, think that 4-choke 60 hp comes in at 300 lbs, the 50hp is about 220lbs.

I have a 05 merc 2 stroke 3 cylinder carbrated 60hp and i love it its quiet . people dont belive me its a 2 stroke , it quiet even on top end . its in the mud more than in the water its my 4x4 duck boat .its been great the only thing i do is decarbon once a year and i drilled out the pisser hole so it can pump sand and mud ,the kids have idled around a hole tank of gas with it and it never died it cleand out fine but if you are goig to troll or idle alot go 4 stroke but if you want great 60hp power go 2 stroke cause 4 strokes are 2 to many and 1 is not enough

The 40, 50, & 60 merc 4-storkes never were yammis, they are mercs, it was the 75, 90, & 115's that were yammis which are being replaced with the non supercharged verado 4 cylinders
