Years back we had one of our river runs and had a couple jons show up with considerable power. One had a 300xs and was a slug while the other had a Diamond Marine modified 260. We were headed to the ramp in a bit of rain. I had my 200xs Allison running 75 or so when out of the corner of my eye I see I am about to be passed by a jon boat. I had to drive the Ally to get back around him. They will definitely run. The jon I spoke of is a member here.

A few of the guys down here run a local built aluminum boat called a Borel. Very nice boat and they run pretty damn good. All tiller motors too. Crazy to see em run 60+mph with em.

That's the one. Hope you are doing well Jeff. Sure do miss those river runs. Think that pic is from that day. Remember the barges stuck in the mud. The guy from the barge company came to my beach raising hell about the hotrods buzzing past them. We politely told him to get off my property and suggested they get some operators that new how to make the barge turn. We all got a good chuckle when he stated the the wakes from the STVs were bothering them. The locks are about 20 miles north of my beach and they eventually lowered the wickets to raise the water so they could continue on their merry way. The good old days.

I got a 15ft tin boat being built now i hope to get it in a couple weeks. I am going to put a 56ci erude on it with a bob's jack plate. i don't know about going 70mph in one. But i figure 50mph should be doable with a stock 56ci.
It appears like you have a really nice paint booth as well …

Yeah i bought a body shop to use as a toy shop. It works pretty well besides the layout of the doors is not great for big boats but sometime i am going to put up dry storage so i can move things out there that are not being worked on.

The booth is not heated but still is better than anything i have painted in before.

The Borel boats are most likely the Cajuns I spoke of. Very helpful guys. One of those tiller handle Borels is running well over 80mph. Race fuel and nitrous on 59 cu in Merc “40’s”
