HydroStream HST 89 structure issues?

Hey there,

Has anyone heard about the hull issues in the early 89 HST models? I read on hydrostream.org about the nose being very weak and was not supported correctly. I was wonding if anyone had any experience with this boat? If you go to www.fastbiz.info/hst you can see some pics I took of it. notice the inside stringer it only has one without the other 2 suggested supports on it. If you check out http://hydrostream.org/Specific%20Models/HSTsplit3.jpg you will see how they added 2 other supports on this boat plus ran the stringer all the way back into the cross support? I was wondering how much of a real issue is this? I looked up and down this boat and did not see any cracks. Does anyone have any comments on this vessle?

That's my boat on the org. site. Apparently, the noses of the early model HST's had issues with breakage. They added the supports you see in mine to prevent this.

If John Tiger sees this thread, he can add to this. I only know what I read; he knows first hand so it's best it come from him.

Thanks for the reply! Wow small world! I was thinking I could just add the supports to the boat no problem as I would be replacing the flooring anyways. Have you run into any major issues with the HST? The info on hydrostream.org about the quality has me a taking a closer look into this boat before purchase. <o
