Ok DDR Tell Me What You Know about my boat!
This is what I know.
Last owner was Mark A P_____z of Wilmington NC. As far as I can tell he now lives in NY. Seller was Battle Cat Marine. Battle Cat is a marine electronics shop in Wilmington NC. Boat was sold on E-Bay as a salvage boat with a junk trailer. Boat had no motor, the engine hatch was cut open, looks like it had a scoop on it and the pump was locked up. They sold 3 or 4 other old scrap boats at the same time this one was listed. The seller told me he was shocked to have so many calls about the boat because he never thouhgt it would even sell. The winning price on this CVX20 was a lil over 600 bucks. I have a bill of sale from Battle Cat and all the back ground information came from talking to the Wilmington DMV and the North Carolina DGIF. I ran the NC reg numbers and the vin numbers on the Cox trailer to get my information. The trailer has an Inland Marina decal on the fender. When I checked into Inland Marina in Goldsboro NC I was told they closed up in the 80's. That may be where the boat came from but I don't know. Any thing you can add about this old boat would be nice. I think with about 3 years of hard work in my spare time and investing 8 to 10 grand then totally rebuilding the trailer I will have a cool old school jet boat for my family to enjoy.

It will be cool when it's all done but it needs tons of work to finish and I have so little time to work on it.

Hello, you may want to check out www.carlsonspeed.com
Tom Brown completely rebuilt his CVX 16 and thoroughly documented the process. You may find some tips.
Mike
P.S. I hope to find a CVX 20 project of my own, so I am following yours closely.

It's Nearly Stringer Time
Hi Mike and thanks for the information. Hope the CVX20 you find is in way better shape than this one. I picked up my 2 x 6 x 14 DF boards to make the stringers last week. Got 3 stringer templates made yesterday and the big brown truck dude dropped off my hull and deck putty today. Hope to have the stringers bedded in before the end of the month. It's slow going but I try to work on the boat at least one day every week. I will try and get some new pics posted as I move forward.

hey there...
My first guess as WHAT TO DO, would be to just pull the entire pump out, as she needs a COMPLETE resto., **** it to me, CHEAP, as my Jacuzzi pump is crap, and the berkly would work much better! hehehe... Sorry, had to try@!
Later...80' Vector, White Frig off the transom under restoration.
Stratos fish n ski, 200 hp Johnson. More family friendly!!!
