Identity theft!
Today, the same day I find out my prop is lost in the mail( 2 post below this one), I just found out someone stole my identity and ran up a $535 bill at the Wal-mart in Las Vegas( I live in South Carolina). Then the bastards had the balls to try it again for $300 and some odd dollars but the security protection on the card stopped them. Just got off the phone with Visa debit card people and I caught it within 24 hrs so they are going to reimburse me.
What did I do, piss off God? This has been one hell of a day!AT IDLE or WOT, there is no in between!!!

Why didn't the protection stop the first transaction?

?????????????
Wish I could answer that one myself. The only thing I can figure is someone got my debit card number and expiration date somehow and made a credit charge instead of a debit charge( because they would need my pin number if the did it debit)?

The bastards got my wife for $9000.00 on a Gateway computer. Also a Shell gas card and a Cingular cell phone. They would not have gotten caught for a long time because they were making the payments and applying for other accounts.
If they weren't making the minimums 30,60 and 90 day lates on her credit would not allow them to apply for more stuff which is what they were doing. It is a slow sneaky process.
The only way we knew was Gateway called us to offer an extended warranty. That was the one time I was glad I did not hang up on a telemarketer.
Moral of the story....check your credit report every 6 months.
