    Blast from the past...

Cleaning out old pix on the hard drive, came accross a pic from WAY back on Virus' old Bravenet site. Great pic of a V-King at speed
Who is this anyway? Matt Pickett? Who took the pic? Greg?

Nice shot! I found a snap shot of my viper when it was about two weeks in 1974.Note the prop on the one shot, I had to wait forever to get it, It is a 14x30 2 blade with a ton of cupping so it was stretch to a 31. That was a lot of pitch back then. I still have that prop, It was hard on the gearcase the vibration getting on a plane was real bad.

Are there scrape marks on the bottom of that cavitation plate? :D

Looks like that prop almost touches that cavitation plate. I can still remember one of my uncles filing on a lower unit so that a big prop could spin...........

    Smile Video

I have the video of that same boat at speed from the early site.

I could ftp it to my site and post a link if anyone is interested.

    Here it is:

JW,It was real close. I remember when I got it I thought if it ever got bent I hope it didn't hit the case. I had to make prop shaft shims to get the prop to fit right it has a very small solid hub. The bigest thing was I was running the shaft even with the bottom or higher so that two blade would shake the whole boat getting on a plane. The engine had home maid solid mounts.
