Insurance Companies
Why is it none of them seem to have an agent that knows about boat stuff.I would think if they knew more about boats and mota's they could save themselves more money and not have to cancel policies like they do.Not good to feel like if you file a claim you may get cancelled.

I'm confused, what's the problem exactly? Unfortunately insurance is pretty much for total loss and personal injury. I'm with ogilvy & ogilvy and they actually market themselves as high performance boat insurance, and there's only one underwriter so you get the same guy every time. I'm sure they're only for local tho, but so far he seemed to know what he was talking about. I was turned down by everyone else because my 18' boat has a 150 on it... hahahahahaah

The problem is,the ins companies seem to be giving boaters the shft after filing claims.I have file a couple and each person that handled my claim admitted to knowing nothing about boats and mota's.

State Farm was the easiest insurance company I've dealt with for insuring my STV.
I was straght forward with them, I read my policy front to back, and I didn't get into specifics about top speed, etc.2000 STV Euroski - 1996 2.5 EFI

it also depends on the type of claims. on another board people are actually asking whether to file a claim for a couple of fishing poles.

You just need to have a simple understanding with the insurance company. They agree to insure and you agree to make no claims.
