Have you ever heard the story about the Elephant, the Mouse and the Corvette (insert any high $ sports car)... Kinda supports that theory, but I still like Corvettes ..

He put a Borla exhaust on yesterday. Said at first that it bogs off idle in gear when you punch it, but flashed the computer and after that it made a noticeable difference when he starts from standing start with traction control off. Chip and cold air on the way.

I wish he'd have run a 1/4 mile test first for a baseline, or at least gotten my accelerometer to see how much difference each change made.

Actually, the LS1 cars were running high 12s with very basic mods.

There was the occasional one that would pull a 12 in factory trim, as long as it was on a good track and fully broken in... It took those cars quite a few miles to loosen up run their best times... What can I say, the LS1 took a lot of people by surprise especially when the mild mods start coming... Full Corsa exhaust (minus the headers) with a cold air kit, and all else factory yeilded a 12.79 @ 112 for the Guy who is watching me type this...

The first Mustang Cobras were running 12's with just slicks and 4:11's.

My basically stock 89 GT was running 14.00 on street tires. It would've run in the 13's easy with slicks. It's not all about HP's, chassis/suspension setup has alot to do with it.

I had an 89' IROC, 350 that was basically stock other than a few bolt-ons, and a set of 3:73's in the rear. This was in the mid 90's when all my friends had 5.0 Mustangs. Maybe all of them were bad driver's but the only one that was faster than me was one that was blown.

We used to go to the drag strip on Friday nights and the best I would run was around 14.0-14.10 at 98 +/- mph. That was on street tires. Very few of the Mustangs I saw ran under 14.00, unless heavily modified. At the time, 5.0 Mustangs were like the Civics of today, everybody had them because they were cheap, and everybody that had em' thought they were fast.
