A guy at work just "signed off" on a Shelby. He's been drooling all over the magazine articles for months. He ended up ordering his thru a small farm town dealer (same thing I had to do in 1972 for a new 240z). $15K over list but he gets to pick his color. Won't get it until December. Now he has to get it trailered to his house to avoid getting it salty. He said there was recently one on ebay that was billed as a ZO6 killer. Give me a break. A recent magazine article pitted a Shelby against a STANDARD C6 and it couldn't outrun THAT!

Stang is nice but it sure aint no vette killer. if you could actually get one for what $45 thou, they would be great deal vs the $70 for the Zo6. My buddy in mpls has a shelby coming and the money he has been offered over msrp is sick Sounds like a Harley marketing plan, which happenes to be a great one

So what's the MSRP on the Shelby? I fooled with the site for about 5 mins and didn't see a place to get prices without givin' em information.
I think that anybody that pays over list for ANY car is foolish, or either doesn't mind losing whatever the amount of over list paid was plus about 20% of the price in the first year. Some of these types have already dropped 50 to 75 grand in 6 mos foolin' with the Ford GT's.Membership upgrade options: http://www.screamandfly.com/payments.php

even at 45k, its still built like a 20k car. The zo6 is built like a 200K exotic (carbon fiber body panels, magnesium parts, interior, etc)
and BTW, guys that have half a brain to go to the right dealers are getting them for MSRP (65k) all over the place.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

not to mention the Shelby's 500 hp come at the expense of a blower. It's still the same weak kneed, chicken **** little motor it had before. The Vette has 427 cubes to work with.

Is there a better argument to have??? And Ford has resurrected the only car to go to Europe and kick their ass at their own game. And they have resurrected it well. That Ford GT is one bad SOB. And if you think that 5.4 Blower motor is a weak-kneed chicken**** motor... You either haven't driven one or your last name is Kalitta or Force or Yates or Rousch.
That Mustang will prove itself as the Performance car of the '00's...
Great ride Wayne... Am I gonna have to drive to Alabama to see it?

The only Ford that is even comparable to the Vette in performance is the GT at thousands more and the problem is it's still a Ford!
