    Screaming Eagle update

FYI, (Screaming Eagle) = SC is the Name Vicious gave my boat the day she was concieved. She was a invetro baby . Sparky at Vicious took a egg from his prise Twim Merc 31 Avenger Offshore Cat and mixed it with the sperm from a light weight Hot Stud STV river racer with a Big over size Johnson outboard. This results, the strongets meanest little offshore cat with lighting fast river racer moves. She was custom Bread for her home waters at Harsen Island for cannel river racing. For power the cross bread twin Merc & Johnson spit out a little Yammie. Their was a consern about the Yammie being the only stock on this JR Cat so she was taken from birth and box up and sent to Wayne at Hydro Tec. Dr. Wayne called me and said I am sorry Bushmen we Dyno her heart and she only put out around 290hp, at 5800rpm and we got trouble. I have to operate on her right away to save her. Well, I trust Wayne with her life, signed the paper work to operate and in she went. Dam, she only a day old. I hope all goes well. I can not speek or spell right now, so I will report on her as soon as he operation is over.

Lol, my firefox does it for me....but only tells me it is wrong not the right way to spell.

Nice car Capt! I had a smokey & bandit once what a fun car. Not super good at anything but sure was fun and pretty darn good at wearing out rear tires.

How about a photo of another '17, maybe with something other than that giant Merc you tested with on the back or did I miss one? That is one good looking boat.

    Hay 305,

I Think you got me confused with Sparky at Vicious. I am a friend of his Bushmen who ordered a custom one of a kind (CR-17 Special Edition). Everything about this boat is unique. I thought I update, recap the build process, on this very special boat. We both have lots of boat Buds out their that have a special interest in this cat so Spark and myself will finish the build on this thread. Being so close to Vicious I was able to see and document the day to day skilled work process of her. She spent the winter at Vicious under wraps waiting to get Rigg.
I took a long time for me to find the right boat and the right builder to build (my) dream boat. It may not be a huge Cat but this Cat is all Hart. Every process was detailed built to hightest stanards. Its the things you do not see that make her special to me. Like the open sponcen area under the floor. I walked in Vicious one day and they were all finished. Not built finished, but all sanded down and Gelcoated for cleaver hatched storage area below. Great Idea Spark. Well stay tuned for her Motor up date and its time to Rigging, Yahoo.

I have more pic I will post, I just got to figure out how to shrink them

Lightbulb Screaming Eagle Motor mid cutting

Even more cutting, When will this stop!!!
He might be ready to rebuild her lower now. She was too long and had to be shorten. She was 20 inch long now after a long process she stands short and proud at 16 inches. Wayne at Hydro Tec is a Pro at this process on Yammie.
He is breaking new ground here because parts to convert shorten lower for Yammie are not out their yet. So Wayne has to make everything and do everything by hand. I belive my motor was the third one he has done. I will say this, the workmenship, quality, and looks are bare none some of the finset work I have seen. The lower looks short, stocky and just like it was made from the factory that way. Perfect not a scratch on her. She looked so good they used her for a photo shoot. You can see the Screaming Eagle Motor Pic at Hydro Tec. Just do a serch for Hydro Tec marine and she will pop up. I needed a very special team to help with the motor mods for this build. Wayne and Nathen jumped in and stepped up to the plate. I got lucky and found one of the best places to send my Yammie. If ya have a Yammie and want to get her shorten and maybe add a few horse power too, look him up. No disappointments.

Thumbs up Screaming Eagal Motor Dyno results

    OK guys,
I just got a call From Dr.Wayne Worthy from Hydro Tec Marine. After carfull mid shorting, he had to do more work. Knowing what I expected for this projest he did the following.
Added ,Phase III kit. Modified Reed blocks,Carbon reeds,Hi performance Heads,Hi performance Tuner,Solid Engine mounts,Big bore throttle body. (NO) internal modification were done or needed to achive my goals.
My goals, Build a fast, solid, light weight, super strong,Cat Hull. With killer Low end acceleration and good top end. Most of all, get killer gas milgege. Yes you can have your cake and eat it to and that is what this Boat is all about.Between Vicious and Hydro Tec I will be able to do this. (Crazy Joes Paints) is in the back ground waiting to stroke the killer beast. A Hi Tec interior is needed thats my job. Equiped with front and rear mounted cameras with LCD screen in dash .MP3 in consol pulg in.Built in power 12 volt cooler locker for cold drinks. Custom lighting and lots more. Thats the Dream team for this project.

    7000

We did better than excepted. This was the highest HP Wayne has gotten out of one of these 300 HDPI.

335hp at 6100rpm, All bolt ons.
Their are 2 more things I need to add that will boost the hp even more.
1.Add the 1 inch throttle body spacer and volicty stacks. + 10hp even more @ mid range ,

That should get her up to a solid 345+hp. With more low/mid end pull
Thats with her peaking at 6100rpm with Yammie computer revlimiter stopper.

I am waiting on the last item that I should have by launch time.
Wayne has been working on a plug in computer system. This will allow the motor to go up to 7,000 sweeting sounding rpm. Will have to pull the last Dyno reading at that time.

Well I am very pleased I sent her to Hydro Tec. She looks Sweet. I just wish I could of heard her sing. I am sure when Sparky reads this he will be drooling. Like Homer wanting a beer, you know the look.
P.S. All , Sparly at (Vicious) is jumping at the bit to take her out for a ride. He been looking at the boat and motor for year now and can't stand it. I know he goes and sits in her at night when all is gone. Hell I still can not belive she mine.

Engine pic to follow. Now you are up to date. We will start the Rigging.

FYI,I got a new Yammie 300 HDPI 30 inch, same as above for vee center consol, call me cheap

Nice work on the motor, I hope to see more mods on DIs. Will be an awesome boat!

IIRC it was Capt Insane-o that was driving the first 17 with the huge old merc on the back?

Yep.. that is the plug boat with an infused deck. It is pretty heavy too. We beat the **** out of it . It's been sunk, parked it the weeds, launched a considerable ways into the air. lol, poor Ernie, I don't think he will ever forget that ride. It was fun with the 3.4, just a pain to prop right.

Made some nice pics. I figured you would try a 2.5 on it next. Lol, 'considerable ways into the air' that is always fun if you have the boat for it.

It ran 86-88 with the ol' washing machine. No nose cone, wobbly mounts, poor prop choice.

Right, washing machine! But then again I guess you really can't use results of a plug boat to gauge final hull performance anyway. Sure looks like fun and sniffing 90 like that is not bad at all.
