    Question Low Voltage?

hey again guys, can a bad battery or some other form of low voltage cause your engine to miss or lose power. what electronicparts could cause a loss in power but still run? thanks again for your help.

    low voltage

The ignition system is self generating, like a magneto, so it is not affected by low voltage. The fuel pump would slow down and might affect it if the voltage is low enough.

The electronic fuel injection, if so equiped, will be affected and should not be run with low voltage. It can damage the ecu.

    low voltage/power loss?

thaks guys, my engine is carburated, didn't think the battery could cause this. yesterday on the water it had a bad powerloss going. that was right before the battery went dead and would not crank the motor. battery was charged. had jumpers and hooked up to my hot trolling batteries and fired right up, funny thing was it ran great at start up and blast off but slowly went back to losing power? few weeks back it was running 6700, then went to 6200, then 5500 and yesterday could hardly get to 5000 with an occassional spurt of power here and there. its driving me nuts? what should i check or do, i've done several things already. also having a little sneezing at start up only. could there be an electical part slowly going bad? thanks for any help.

    Thumbs up compression check

hey Dave, thanks for helping. i use to live in hermitage and spent some time on priest and old hickory lakes. just had a compression check done last week, all cylinders were between 145 & 150. could the power packs be going bad maybe or some other similar parts? thanks again for helping, Bryan.....
