I use Mothers Stainless Steel polish. You can get it at Walmart for about 6 bucks or so. I like paste not the liquid.

It is pricey, but the best stainless/metal cleaner I have ever used is Flitz. They sell it at west marine. It is amazing and will work when other stuff will not, but if you can find somethng less expensive that works, use it. If nothing works, give flitz a try.

here is a little before and after on a ratty sportsmaster I had and was cleaning up with flitz. Look at the inspection plate for before and after. I only wish I had a pic of a set of stainless exhaust coolers on a pair of 1692's I used it on. They were badly discolored from turbo exhaust heat, and Flitz was the only thing out of several products that I tried that brought it back. Not cheap, but pretty amazing when nothing else will work.
