    Maybe they need a transmission.
worlds biggest ships are 2 strokes, no gearbox needed just like an e-tec

Until we get the electric motors. Lets get Tesla to make an outboard motor! Just store the battery in the boat where the gas tank would go.

Curious to see if they can make ~250-300 hp with a reasonable amount of added cost on these engines. The k24 is a similar engine to the BF150 to my understanding.

Yes, the goal is 225 to 250 at the prop, revving to 8,000 RPM. The K24 in the BF 150 is a slightly different version. And Yes, it is Luke, from 4Piston Racing doing the work.

I just got my BF 150 shop manual in the mail today. The specialty tools alone might break me.

The Project BF 150 made over 300 HP on the dyno. Will get some details soon.

I was wondering if someone would do this on the smaller engines to where we can have some hope for the future.

Is that crank or propshaft? Nice job, either way!

Crank, enough over 300 that should be pretty close to 300 Prop.

I think this is a cool project, however there is to much negativity involved with the nah sayers.
If no one ever tried anything we would be stuck with the same ol, or nothing at all.

Agree 100% with you Mr. Ashby. No negativity on my part I assure you. I just get curious for more details when the envelopes are pushed.

I haven't noticed any real negativity yet. It's definitely an experiment, but so far so good. Could be an economical alternative, using new technology for 225 HP + engines.

This engine makes more power in the higher RPM. Goal was to have it around 8,000 RPM. I think this works well on lighter fast hulls.
