We will be meeting at Port o' Blarney on Sunday, January 28th from 11-1. This is the weekend between the NFL Conference Championships and the Super Bowl, so no football this day.

    Here's the agenda:

    • Rules discussion - we'll be going through the rules so you understand the changes.
    • Membership and Entry Fees
    • Race committee structure and new changes for raising issues, questions, and protests.
    • Race schedule including plans for our first Saturday Race on June 30th
    • Inspections (pre-season inspections, weigh-ins for outboards, weekly inspections, etc.)

We will have time to open the floor for questions as well. We'll have pizza for lunch.

    See you then.

If I may, as an X Lake racer and now spectator.. IMO spectators are too close to the course at Blarney's.. Have you discussed this in your previous meetings or perhaps up and coming meetings? This is an accident waiting to happen as spectators eek closer to the course. But, as always nothing gets looked at until something happens and then its hearsay and finger pointing and what could be the last race. I've been to a few races and have seen a few accidents in my day. At times, spectators can't be far enough from the course and they become involved in the accidents. I'll go to Blarneys, its big fun, but I do not take my sons with me.

They did move the drag strip further out 10-12 years ago and put the "race boats only markers" which put the race boats much further from the crowd. The same time they stopped allowing boats to anchor on the back part of the strait....This is a non issue now. So it was "looked at" and addressed. What's your name pbxcomm?

If I recall, Kankakee never allowed pleasure boats within eyesight of the course. Depue never allowed spectators to sit on the rocks near shore, they would chase spectators back if they went under the wooded fencing.
Good to know that there's safety first at Blarney's.

Boats raced much closer to the spectators at Kankakee than we do at Blarney Island. I remember Chris Bush getting people on the shore wet because he ran so wide.

All the rules are posted Jerry. They are not much different from when you ran.....Open is the class to run if you wanna spray. There very well may be another outboard in that class too....

Spray what you talking about Willis??? LOL As you know there are a few boats in the UMPBA that would have to have a passenger to make 1250# as well as a few that may be running a "alternative fuel delivery system". Just saying if you guys want to play with "those guys" you should put a class together. I have nutin but love and respect for Chris to put the time and money up to keep things alive down there.

Would love to come down and spank all you asses again but I'm getting old, married and my kids still think I'm cool LMAO.

Hope to see all you guys soon
