I was wondering, you think the way that boating is changing now someone would be out there making the old parts and milling great pieces, sounds like a good business opp., as a lot of us would rather fix what we got ,vs. Buy the new stuff

Wait till merc comes out with their consumer 14" v6 or v8...then a lot of us will be forgetting about these. Especially if the epa steps in and forces us out lol.

I'm in my 40's and I suspect I will more likely see Jesus walk through my living room before Merc gives us a V6 225R model. At least I have time on my side.

I mean...they already have the markings on their pallets for a shorty motor that they don't sell. Not sure what that means, but the have an alignment line for a "S" motor. And the 60R Comes on a different pallet than the bigger motors, so why would they have an alignment line for a short dhaft motor on their big engine pallet?
I know nothing, but I have suspicions.

I tried to contact Shawn torrente about trying to get info about what might be coming down , but was not able to get in contact with him, I know that apx 360 only weigh s 450 on the 4L platform, that might get me to convert from my x motor, the weight is the biggest issue for me, I had a g2 on my 02 weighs 575, weighs way to much for my boat. But man the economy i got.

I toy with the idea of building one...but its a damn lot of work to buy a new motor, cut it all up and then by the time I get it done merc releases one for 2/3 of the amount of money I have in mine...that would suck. And yeah mine would probably weigh more than what merc comes up with

I have two 225X motors and keep thinking maybe Merc will make a new 3.4 V6 225 R model with Sporty available for some of us who need the lighter weight.

I think they would have done it by now if they were going to.
