Sent the block to the machine shop to get bored.
He called and said it will bore 0.015" no problem.
Going with Vertex coated pistons. He found a cravk in the bottom of the block where the 2 studs meet the exhaust divider. Says it common and would weld it up better and stronger. Also asked about porting. What boat it going on and what I want the engine to do.

The exhaust ports look like that from the factory on the FF and PM sleeves due to how they are cut. I raised the exhaust to 1.540 shelf and 1.450 chamfer and smoothed the corners. This is a proven port map. The exhaust divider surface was welded and filled like a 260 in the corners. Oil injection gear was filled. Broke in and set up correctly it should be a strong runner especially with the addition of the slider and ACU. I haven’t had a chance to look at the curves as I am still at the hospital with my wife. Hopefully she will go home today an I can compare the curves and make a determination of which one you need.

Removed the 2 stage reeds and lapped the cages down to 400gt. Good thing too. One cage had a bad casting flaw in it rite on a sealing surface. Took a good bit of lapping with 180gt to get it true and flat again. And installed some single stage custom cut fiber reeds.

So those are stock PM reed blocks? I've never owned a PM. I have a set of tear drop style that I can opened up if that's what PM's came with. Thanks

Tear drops bend easyer.... flow more..... JMO......The narrow section is where the reed bends.....easyer than straight cut ......It don't flow down below.... the 1/2 mark unless ya blend the surface.......JMO.....And that exhaust port work was sloppy..........

Got the block back from James. And he did a wonderful job. Excellent attention to detail. Welded the bottom up and cut like a 260. Bored 0.015" all 6. Filled oil gear. Ported. Milled exhaust and deck flat. And and got the bunny stamp of approval
