I believe so to take up space for less crankcase volume. I doubt you would notice the difference

I would go that far but realize there are limits to the steel bore at extreme RPM as well as tuning challenges. I’m basically aiming to get as close to a 225 promax as I can and run a promax ecu and hope for the best.

How many RPM do you want to turn? I really don’t know much about a 200 but I have 2.5 260s with steel sleeves. I thought I saw an oiler crank in your motor?

I think the oiler crank is the reason there’s a RPM limit. I guess you need to stay in your comfort zone.

I’m deleting the oil injection and going premix. I was asking today about the plastic gear whether it should stay on the crank or be cut off. As Forbes mentioned I am going to drive the bronze bushing out and fill that void with epoxy as well as fill the cavity the oil pump shaft takes up to equalize the volumes. Going to finish opening up the plate and detail the block exh dump as well as clean up the casting flash and do some work on the rod slots and that’s about it as far as porting goes.

i was all set to go hog wild but figured it better to get a solid runner first, then if this doesn’t do it go wilder on the next one

Are you referring to going deep into the behind the liner? I can show you photos of stock and a radically ported motor tomorrow let me know exactly what area and I’ll show you.

Near the exhaust port area is where I was referring to. I had a 2.4 radically ported. It ran good but cracked after a 100 hrs or so.
