Tested with the DDT today. The temp reading was 260. Hope to get this one fixed.
The evidence of poor quality lingers much longer than the success of meeting a budget.

The 849849 A 13 doesnt have a Potted PROM Chip. Its a ROM (Read Only memory) and is Programmed during the Manufacturing process and cant be reprogrammed.
All 849849 box's are the same, they all take PROM chips. They all have removable chips, though the chip does not influence the map only how the rev limiter come in. The map is flashed. Any and all box's can be anything you want. The newer M box isn't flashable (or is it...) but has the same issues the Brucato box has.
The new box is a giant leap forward.

RBT....Rob I am glad you saw this,,,,,was there two different builders of 849849 box....Their seems to be chips that are covered with the potting stuff and others that are clean ....their are some adjustments missing in the A13 ecu....The fuel map can be flashed as you stated ..The Map[ manifold absolute pressure] can not... The M box,,, is that the smaller A6,If it is ,,,Then it can be reprogramed by only one person, and I am pretty sure you know who that is...

The 849's built by Woodward in my opinion the quality wasn't as good as the originals 849's but the new boxes by Power performance are going to be leaps and bounds better and won't be 20 years old either lol
