I did replace the plate with a single 3/8 x 15 stainless turnbuckle (cav. plate)

I think it will hold also, but I put all that effort into my ladder bar and pad.

    p.s. Thanks for the confidence.

The inline four carb front looks cool. What's the stock compression on the two carb above. Does the motor respond to the usual, will the two carbs support a few more horses?

I don't know either, maybe it's a bit better than fiberglass on a V4 thread.

Well I couldn't goof off any longer, so I'm back on the project.

Did some final fitting and finish on the motor plate, got the lower shaping up, heli-coils as nec., bead blasted, self etching primer, Motor is cleaning up well.

I grew up with those motors when I was a kid... Who has money for parts when you are 15 years old? I had a collection of spare motors in my parents back yard. I remember swapping powerheads in the water to go ride around on a saturday!

Life has been getting in the way, so I've been side stepping the project. I got a couple of days to goof off so I revised the transom plate brace, and found a cute place for the stern light.
I eliminated a big ole ugly bracket, poked a hole in the splash well and grabbed the knee brace to tie too. I think this is the final attempt, just got to make it all pretty now.
