Here’s a mock up of one primer.
    Tested and passed.

Had these on the last Sonic and loved them.
Hit button for 5 seconds, hit the key and go.

Not quite EFI but once I tune their late model carbs, they’ll be damn close.
    And 1/4 of the cost.

You use the factory fuel pumps and vro?
That's why you have that setup?..really good idea too.
    Who needs EFI..
Unless you start talking Monty's EFI setups!
    One day one day!

I just have the Holley fuel pumps but I mix so...
Press key primer a couple seconds and with the CDI digital ignitions they don't make a full revolution and start..
I don't like to say it out loud not superstitious but.. lol

Jezuz, you must buy little hose clamps by the gross, have always thought about doing this, why do you keep the stock hand primer bulb, for the check valves, also, what kind of little fuel pumps are those and what kind of pressure do they put out, think that would be too much for an old inline???

Keep squeeze bulb in case of pump failure.
I only use it to fill lines/carbs then run off stock VRO pumps.

And yeah, I hate all the clamps.
    May try metal lines.

Its a low pressure (4 - 6ish) Carter pump from Summit racing.
    $33. per.
Mght be enough for an inline but safer to do what Mike does above.

The low pressure Holleys work great on a carb’d motor.
Ive done it s bazillion times.

FMP, thx for suggestion on lights.
    Hadnt thought of that.

Just saw a guy on OSO w/a new trailer for his Cigarette that has lights illuminating the hull.
For aid at ramp after sunset but looks cool going down the road too.

Gary, is the black, hexagon piece in the middle a check valve, isn't there a check valve in the primer bulb, why the duplicate??? Got nothin better to do, so trying to figure this out. And after seeing your plumbing work, maybe you should stick to fiberglass. Where do you think you are going to splash your Checkmate, any good sized water by you???

    Yes on the check valve.

I added it because the factory version had one but did not have the squeeze bulb.
Great catch and I will try it w/o the check valve.

That would take it down to 13 hose clamps per system

I built the first mock up out of plumbing parts I had.
My tee’s had three female ports w/three hose barb adapters.
    Times two T’s
I did not take a picture of it.

I am 15 mins from Delaware Reservoir.

    Still aways away though.
EVERYTHING is just mocked up at this point.

Id like to get far enough to put some heat in the motors but not much of a hurry beyond that.

I know from personal experience, that once you get close enough to finishing a project to run it, typically it does not get finished.

This is something I’ve wanted all my life and am OK waiting.

Funny too, a long time bud, who’s been w/me through most of my boat projects, was just here for a couple days of drinking in the shop, knows Checkmates very well and likes my ‘86 Convincor better than the wife’s ‘95.

BTW, did you see the 13 on e-bay?
    Very nice, and cheap.

Yes, I did see the MX13 on ebay, it did look good at first, but, I think the first pics were with the boat wet, I asked some questions and they said there was a soft spot in the floor in front of the transom, so needs floor and transom. Also, they added pics of the seats and the gelcoat was starting to chalk up. Looked it up and Delaware is only 1300 acres, think you will go thru that pretty quick.

Your idea worked but had to install squeeze bulb where check valve was or elec pump would pull fuel from carbs.
And, back to 15 hose clamps

Ear clamps/otikers seal better and won’t loosen all the factory stuff uses them now. 100packs from Donovan are $60 the tool is cheap and saves a bunch of time. They r on 30-40psi not 5-6psi.

I only use omc or Yamaha primer balls and id never rely on a primer ball check valves. Seen way too many leave people stranded.

    Thx Kevin.

    That was my next attempt.

Bought these in plumbing at Menards, gambling on size but were too big.
Theyre on the list for my next Land n Sea order.

BTW, the crimper was $7 there and $39 @ L/S.

Appreciate your input on the squeeze ball too.

I used that same type of clamp when I was in maintenance making air hoses with 90 psi. I just completely replaced the fuel lines on an inline 115 Merc, I bought the clamps from McMaster-Carr delivered almost over night for I think 25 for less then $15. Look em up, that's a very good price on the crimper, was that with the 11% rebate?? I hate Menards.

    Much better.

Bought the real crimper and correct clamps from Pro Marine ($48 dealer cost!) and they worked and look great.

I tried the $7 Menards crimper and it worked but would crimp as complete as real deal.

I think I’m satisfied w/and will accept the results.
