AV (in boats too) the next Major Lifestyle Change.

"I believe we’ll reach a tipping point within the next decade. When we do, AVs (autonomous vehicles) will change transportation as dramatically as the PC changed office work." Bill Gates.

Will passing a driver's license be the thing of the past?
In the future you can go water skiing by yourself — you will not need a human driver.
Self-driving cars will allow pre-teens to go joy riding on their own (unless state laws forbid it).
The elderly will have transportation to go shopping.

It will drastically change the bar & restaurant business once "drunk driving" goes away.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

We need to be paying more attention to these self driving cars and AI. We have robots doing much of the manual labor humans once did. Cars driving themselves and now some think it wise to make machines that can think. Glad I'm old.

Yes, but people thought the same thing when the printing press, the railroad, the airplane, the PC, the cell phone, etc came out. It's difficult to know in advance how any new technology will alter human behavior.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

The lawyers will sue everyone who has money, which will include the car owner, whoever is nominally in charge of the car, and the vehicle manufacturer.

It depends how the laws are written regarding self-driving. I'm sure the rules will evolve as the technology improves.
