    xr6 Lower unit change

I have a '92 150 xr6 S/N-0D137211. According my research the lower unit is a 4 1/4 inch diameter gearcase with a 1.87 gear ratio. Will a 4 3/4" gearcase fit this motor and will there be any performance difference?
    Thanks

Small cases have a 1.78 ratio. You may need to reprop or buy the filler ring for your prophub to close off the exhaust

Depending on your application, the larger case with a 1.87 may be better

Thanks for the info guys. Re-propping is a definite as it was over propped when I bought it. Any recommendations on where to get a good reman lower unit at a fair price? Also looking at props but there is a ton of different ones out there. Prop will be going on a Ranger451V. Length 17.5 ft. 84'beam Speed is not the #1 priority but looking for a good balance between hole shot and top end. Any recommendations on props to consider would be appreciated.

    Thanks Merc
You are the second one to recommend a Trophy, so I am going to try to find one to test.
