Well got some sanding and filling done today, it's getting there, about 80% done more sanding and filling to go on the one side. It is not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than it was. It's prob my least favorite part of this project, just very tedius and time consuming. Anyways here are some pics.

Yes the top cap will be glassed to the bottom part of the hull in that area as well as gussets in 3 areas that will run up the side of the bottom of the hull and glassed to the cap as well. There has to be a gap like that in order for the glass that goes over the core material to be able to stick to the old glass son the cap. if you put it right up to the edge you wouldn't be able to have the glass touch any of the old glass and the cap wouldn't fit back on the boat. Not to mention we left about a 2.5" gap so that the edges of the Core can be sanded round after the putty dries that it gets glued down with for a smooth transition, everything that touches glass should be rounded a it lays down so much better, i had to redo some things that were not rounded enough and the glass did not want to lay and it had air bubbles behind them so that was redone with rounded corners and CSM in the radius, so much better result. The knees were the issue for me.

Did I already say battleship tough? I'll say it again......Battleship tough! Excellent work. Good fore thought too. Very important factor in the end result.

Cap is glassed... Got a few questions, would a sump style fuel cell / bottom pickup work or does it need to be top fed? I would like to go bottom fed and will be able to make it work I just don't want to run into issues as most of the tanks made for boats are top fed but im assuming thats because of fitment issues and ease of access? Another question I have is, is it legal in FL to have no lights on a boat if not running at night?

Think the problem with bottom feed is chance of hose leaks getting into the bilge area, then boom???? Top feed prevents that.

Put the top back on cut out the new spashwell, started mocking up everything. Battery up front, 10 gal 10x30 cylindrical fuel cell right behind seat? Would be not as tall as than them cans and about 4" wider (cans for reference) shifter right next to seat under cap. Should be a great setup. GETTING CLOSE
