I think most would agree that the OZ teams have long held the top of the top when it comes to both speeds and guts. Creative stuff down under for sure.

    Yep.

Those loons have been on my A list for 20 yrs!

You can spend all night on YouTube watching tapes of the “Bridge to Bridge”.

When our countries OB boat racing world was all in on drag racing, the Aussies had the baddest OB vee bottoms (and trailers!) pulling up two slalom skiers from deep water starts and holding their foot on the floor for 60+ miles!
    Try that w/a drag motor!

When I was struggling to tune FrankenRude II, a 3.3 OMC looper, Darren Spencer the king of OMC powered ski racers helped me figure it out.

Look up the bad ass twin OB rigs.
Was an OMC rig w/full zoot V-6 loopers w/F-1 gear cases!

Also a bad ass Merc rig running twin S-3000 motors!

I think the twins were in the 120’s w/skiers behind them!
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

2 strokes lack a bit of grunt out of the corners versus boosted big blocks.
I wonder if the new Mercs will change that especially with the new 120 rule?

    Yep

I think the Mack daddies have always been the twin turbo IOs.

Tough to beat boosted double the cu in’s.

Greg, I think the 120 rule is only a couple yrs old.

    Killer!

Looks like the same bend in the river where a video showed an offshore boat, pulling skiers (!!) spun right in front of the camera man standing in water up to his waist!

The question is Cuda, would you be one of those trailers? I'll give you my answer about me..................HAIL NO!! I would be more than happy to watch THEM do it all day long. But for me, I remember being out on the whip going full speed (42 behind the boat) and wiping out, landing face first........Who put the concrete down?........instant migrane. GOOD TIMES!! Those speeds???? INSANE
